Sumptuous Dark Chocolate Mousse

as served by the “Death by Chocolate” event at Largo Cultural Center on Dec. 1st, 2017

DOUBLE CHOCOLATE PUMPKIN ORANGE BROWNIES


Yes, they are gluten-free!

Ingredients:

21 oz Cooked and Pureed Pumpkin (canned is ok)
15 oz Chocolate Chips or Semi-sweet Chocolate
18 oz Butter
10 oz Granulated Sugar
2 tbsp Corn Starch
2.5 oz Cocoa Powder
1 tsp Baking Powder
6 Eggs
Zest of one large Orange

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt chocolate in a double boiler. Whip butter with sugar until creamy. Add eggs one by one, add zest of orange. Make sure butter is creamy – if it's still lumpy, keep mixer running. Add melted chocolate and pumpkin puree, then cocoa powder, baking powder and corn starch. Fill mixture in greased medium-sized baking pan (12x18) and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Serve warm with unsweetened whipped cream.
